Juno Bait's "Weekend Fishing Outlook"

For Weekend of 12/2-12/4/2022

IMPORTANT SHOP NOTE- CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7th! 
The Parking lot is going to be completely resurfaced, and will not be useable.  We are planning on reopening Thursday December 8th regular hours (Please note...Parking lot will likely be blocked off in the morning still!) if the project goes smoothly: HOWEVER, we may need to adjust.

OFFSHORE-  Looks like it's going to be another blowout this weekend offshore.  The fishing this week was pretty good when the weather allowed.  The dolphin reports remain pretty solid, with most of the fish coming in 150-300' of water.  Trolling ballyhoo and bonita strips remain an easy way to target the dolphin.  The dolphin will also readily slurp down a live bait meant for sailfish in the same depth range.  A few sailfish reports this week; with a handful of boats getting multiple chances.  Wahoo reports were slim from Jupiter to Palm Beach; but still a few being caught down towards Boynton.  Bottom fishing remains good, with some really good yellowtail reports and a scattering of muttons.  

INSHORE-  Snook fishing remains the best bet inshore.  A windy forecast this weekend will likely help fire them up.  The wInd isn't easy to fish in a lot of times, but it can really help fire up the bite.  Look for the snook to be laid up along seawalls and under boat docks during the day.  Use the wind (and current) to let the baits float right in on them.  Mixed in will no doubt be a few jacks and still some tarpon as well.  The bridges continue to produce a decent snook bite at night.  The shrimp jig bite continues to come on strong!  The jacks have been roaming Palm Beach Inlet pretty good; and conditions look good for them to be around solid this weekend.  No sheepshead reports yet from Palm Beach Inlet...but it is getting to be about that time!  

SURF/PIER- Water along the beach finally started to clear up this week; and the fishing improved drastically with clearing conditions(Hopefully it doesn't go away to bad with the windy weekend forecast).  The Juno Beach Pier saw the best action; with a nice mix bag of pompano, bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel.  The pompano were caught best on Doc's Goofy Jigs; with a few coming on sandfleas and FishBites as well.  The Bluefish were biting poppers and diamond jigs the best.  Chunks of mullet and sardines will also get the bluefish's attention.  Still a handful of snook around the pier as well.  Best way to go for the snook is dead bait chunks fished very patiently under the pier (It's boring, and can be annoying with the bluefish...but its effective!).  The Spanish Mackerel have been biting white crappie jigs the best.  Some really good croaker reports coming in from along the beach north of the pier.  The bluefish are also along the beach in good numbers.  

NOAA MARINE WEATHER:
FRI...E NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft, occasionally to 9 ft. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. A slight chance of showers in the morning.

SAT THROUGH SUN...E NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop.
